My Fellow Rotarians of Rotary Club of Penampang,
Welcome to Rotary Year 2011-2012.
As we look forward to the year ahead, urged on by our RI President to “Reach within to embrace humanity”, I would like us to ponder the reason that we are in this great organisation.
For whatever reasons that we have become Rotarians, we have somehow CHOSE to stay on as one. To me, there is no reason other than our own needs, similar to that of every man, the needs to do good and to serve our fellow men. To this end, Rotary has always offers us a clear sense of mission, and avenues for us to use our vocations to serve our society.
Our Club though small, is nevertheless a gathering of great individual talents and skills which I believe, together, we can make a real difference. So let us not be content with the goodness that Rotary represents, but to do our bit as Rotarians. In the coming year, we will be hosting the 25th Pan Borneo Meet in May 2012. We have great plans for the joint community project that we will be undertaking as the Host Club for the Meet. There’s plenty of work waiting for us, and I look forward to your support and contribution.
